Special Needs

We try, to help kids with special needs and spread a bit of love. The Cozy Dozee was not developed specifically for additional needs children, however, because of the obvious benefits, many families are being directed to us by their Therapist.

• The Australian Standard for special needs children (AS/NZS4370:2013), “Restraint of children with disabilities, or medical conditions, in motor vehicles, states both compliant and non compliant accessories (to AS/NZS 8005) “may be recommended or prescribed for safety, postural support or comfort”.
• The Cozy Dozee has been tested under Australian standards for crash testing, breath-ability and flammability testing and has passed all requirements of testing.  Find out more on our Crash Testing page
• The ACCC has also reviewed the product and it is recommended the former Director of Engineering at Britax (Safe n Sound).  Full details of both letters can be found on our crash testing page.
• We have not tested our product in a scenario that may involve a fit or similar.

For seats not found on our size guide, or for lie down wheel chair/beds, please get in touch with us via the contact form and we will be happy to discuss how we may assist you.  Customer orders take your individual circumstances into consideration and after discussing your childs age and needs, we are able to change fabric, length and discuss the value of the Cozy Dozee breakaway clips in your individual circumstances to see if the Cozy Dozee is right for your family.

“A little bit about my man Marley:  he has very little head control because of his low muscle tone.  He would get his head jammed under the headrest on his right hand side.  This is a huge problem because the muscle’s on the right are tightening.  We also have the problem of his spine and what the effects of slumping to the right will eventually do.

We now have the Cozy Dozee and love it!   It has made travelling stress free!  Before I would continuously look in my rearview to see how Marley is.  90 % of the time his head would be down so I’d pull over put it back up only for it to fall back down again.
